Tony had a distinguished Amateur career which led to him being ranked number 3 nationally in the Cruiserweight division. He made his debut as a professional in September 2009 defeating Bobby Scott on points before despatching Nick Okoth in a round in his second bout. His third bout was in March 2010 against tough Yorkshireman John Anthony where Tony won on points despite being put on the floor twice in the contest. His fourth bout saw him obtain a shutout points decision over Tayar Mehmed on a Goodwin Promotions show in April 2010 with his fifth contest being a professional shutout points performance against Hastings Rasani.

Tony is described as "proof that nice guys can do well in boxing" by Manager Richard Clark.

Tony is currently ranked 9 in the UK in the Cruiserweight division by Box Rec and is expected to contest a title fight within the next two years.
