I was born in Barbados on 1st December. From the age of 14 years I attended Christchurch High School where I took part in many different sporting activities. These included cricket where I was the school captain, athletics excelling in the 100 metres, 200 metres, cross country, shot put and long jump. Before leaving high school I included weight training as part of my preparation to help my athletic performance. After leaving school I continued my weight training and went to the gym regularly. As I was developing quite rapidly I was encouraged to take part in body building competitions. I entered my first competition at the age of 19 and came second. One year later at the age of 20 I won the junior and senior Mr Barbados (this was the first time a competitor had won both titles in the same night). This inspired me to continue with competitive bodybuilding.

In 1978 I was offered a job as a bodyguard/chauffeur to Major Pierre Casson who was the deputy director for external relations at the U.N Palais de Nation in Geneva, Switzerland. I worked in Switzerland for 18 months and then returned to Barbados where I completed the Universal instructor’s course and became a gym instructor. After working as a gym instructor I became the fitness manager senior coach and fitness consultant for the Universal Health Club in Barbados. I worked there until I came to live in England in 1987. I have worked in various different gyms in London as a gym instructor/personal trainer. In 1988 a completed a course with the British Amateur Weightlifters Association and qualified to teach elementary Olympic Weightlifting.

At an amateur level I have represented Barbados nationally, regionally and internationally. During this time I won many national titles including Mr Barbados 7 times, Mr Hercules, Mr Adonis, Champion of Champions and the Caribbean and Central America title 7 times. I have competed internationally many times in the Mr Universe and World Championships and after being a finalist many times I became the world champion (light heavyweight) 1. I went on to win the British Davina Classic overall before turning professional in 1991.

During my years as a professional bodybuilder I have taken part in many contests all over the world. After taking 3rd place in the British Grand Prix final in 1991 I qualified for a place in Bodybuilding’s most prestigious contest Mr Olympia. As a professional bodybuilder I also took part in other professional contests these included Masters Olympia 3rd place, Arnold Classic 5th place, Swiss Grand Prix 4th Place, German Grand Prix 6th Place among many others. I have also travelled extensively to many countries including the USA, Russia, Ukraine, Japan Yugoslavia, Australia, Africa and many others conducting seminars and training workshops on bodybuilding, nutrition, sports injuries and nutrition. I retired from competitive bodybuilding in 1998 but have continued to have a keen interest in the Fitness Industry I am now a qualified sports massage/ sports injuries therapist.

I have successfully trained Four British Bodybuilding Champions, Amoury Francis, JD Dawodu, Eddie Abu, and Troy Brown.
